As I expected, there are even more warnings about undisclosed peanuts in a number of foods.
(The culprit appears to be a batch of garlic powder that was mixed with peanuts!)

Undisclosed traces of Peanuts

Sanlakol announced a recall of the following products that contain traces of peanuts without a dislosure on the label:

Yachin and Pri Mevorach brands Harissa - Hot Pepper Sauce - in 2.5 kg, 570g, and 100g packages

with use by dates of 3/2019, 4/2019, and 5/2019 and with production codes that fall between 16-084 thru 16-138

Undisclosed Traces of Peanuts

Pri Chen warned that the garlic powder used as an ingredient in certain pickles contains undisclosed traces of peanuts.

The products are:
 
"Cucumbers in Salt" with expiration dates between 18/05/19 and 25/05/19 in packages with drained weights of: 4.9 kg, 1.75 kg, 348 grams, and 320 grams.

The company is recalling the products from the supply chain.

Anyone with a peanut allergy is warned NOT TO EAT THESE.

Undisclosed Allergen Warning! (Another one)

Meir Bagel issued a warning that the following products contain undisclosed traces of peanuts:

"Shtuchaleh" Sweet Chili flavor, 300g packages

"Shtuchaleh" Sweet Chili flavor, 40g packages

with expiration dates between 22/12/2016 and 19/01/2017

"Shtuchaleh" is the name the company gave to their flat pretzel products

The products are being recalled to correct the packaging.

Anyone who has a peanut allergy who has purchased these products SHOULD NOT EAT THEM.

Strauss Dairies issued the following warning:

Certain "Symphony" Cheese Products were made using a spice mix that contains traces of peanuts.

Symphony 5% Cheese with Garlic and Pepper, barcode 7290106729865, with use by dates between 8/7/2016 and 10/7/2016

The company stresses that the product is ONLY unsafe to use for people with a peanut allergy.

Recall! (Israel)

Strauss is recalling the following product, due to an undesirable aftertaste:

Elite brand Chocolate "Rolada" Cake (Swiss Roll style cake), 350g, barcode 7290008754613

ONLY those packages that are marked with an expiration date of 28/7/2016, and were produced between 00:00 and 10:30, are being recalled.

The company maintains that the product is safe, but is recalling it in any case.

Consumers who have purchased this product should call customer service at 1-800-777-777 to arrange for a refund/replacement.

Recall! (Israel)

Yotvata is recalling the following products, due to the possible presence of pieces of plastic in the milk:

Chocolate Milk (Shoko), 2L plastic jugs, barcode 7290003023165, with expiration dates between 16/6/2016 and29/6/2016

Milk Enriched with Vitamin D (chalav m'ushar), 2L plastic jugs, barcode 7290003029815, with expiration dates between 16/6/2016 and29/6/2016

The products are being removed from store shelves.

Consumers who have purchased these products are advised NOT to drink them. Please call Yotvata's customer service line at 1-800-291-291 to receive a refund.

Food Recall! (Israel)

Today, Teva Deli announced a recall of the following product:

Shwarma Style Seitan - wheat gluten strips, 350g packages, (sold refrigerated)

The product named above (pictured to the left), with expiration date 22.08.2016, was found to be contaminated with elevated levels of e.coli bacteria.

The company has decided to recall ALL 350g packages of Shwarma Style Seitan currently in stores, with expiration dates between now and the end of August. New procedures will be implemented in order to avoid these problems in the future.

Consumers are asked NOT to eat this product. Please contact Teva Deli by email (tdservice@tevadeli.co.il) or phone (054-762-4657) to arrange for a refund/replacement or with any questions.

Free Admission is BACK at Madatech!

Madatech is a Science Museum, located in the Heart of Haifa. It's a pretty decent Science Museum (and we have seen MANY Science Museums in the past 17 years!), and all of my kids (aged 8-17) found things that interested them and kept them busy for our whole day there!

Normally, it's pretty pricey to take a family to Madatech (base price is 340 shekels for a family of 4, and each additional child is 50 shekels), so naturally, when we found out it was free on Wednesdays in February and March, we took a day to go. I wholeheartedly recommend you find a way to go too.

And now, Free Admission is back! Wednesdays in May and part of June are FREE ADMISSION days at Madatech! The deal is good thru June 15, 2016. Free admission is not valid for school groups or other large groups.
Please be aware that on Yom Hazikaron (Wednesday, May 11, 2016) the museum will be CLOSED so please do not plan to go that day; you'll just be disappointed.

Opening hours on Wednesday are 10am - 3pm, so plan accordingly!
