Food Recall!

I am so sorry I have been negligent about posting food recalls and related issues lately. There's been another undisclosed allergen report you should know about, so I decided it is time to pick up these posts again.

Here are the details you need to know:

Product: Biskvitaminim - Biscuits for Toddlers and Kids
Variety: Vanilla Flavor
Production Code: 161
Expiration Date: 10.4.19

Brand: Matzot Aviv / Golden Heart
Product: Biskvitaminim - Biscuits for Toddlers and Kids
Variety: Vanilla Flavor
Production Code: 162
Expiration Date: 11.4.19

Brand: Matzot Aviv / Golden Heart
Product: Biskvitaminim - Biscuits for Toddlers and Kids
Variety: Chocolate Flavor
Production Code: 162

Expiration Date: 11.4.19

These products do not mention peanuts in the allergen listings but it should note that it may contain traces of peanuts. These products are being removed from store shelves so they can be relabeled.

Allergen Warning (Peanuts)

Today's announcement is about a mislabeled product:

Rami Levy Brand Nut Muesli 

400g and 800g packages

Barcodes 7290015681896 and 7290015681827

The packaging is missing an allergen warning - the product contains peanuts, as listed in the ingredient panel, but does not list peanuts in the allergen warning.

Consumers who are allergic to peanuts are warned NOT to eat this product!

Otherwise, it is safe to eat. They are working to correct the labels.

Undisclosed Traces of Peanuts -- Recall list

If you or a loved one are allergic to peanuts, you NEED this information.

Another batch of industrial garlic seems to be contaminated with peanuts, and Soglowek has issued a list of products that are affected. (I would not be surprised if other companies follow suit in the next few days. I hope to keep you updated as information comes out.)

Additional Peanut-Related Recalls

Here are the latest additions to the peanut related recall list.

The following products contain undisclosed peanut ingredients:

"Bayit Im Ofi" Vegan Pepperoni, all packages that have production dates in March, April, or May 2016 (expiration dates in October, November, December 2016)

Please call the company at 054-441-9845 if you have this product and are allergic to peanuts, to arrange for your return.

N.R.G. Yasmin announced that their Veal Sausages (Naknikiyot Egel), from production dates 6.03.2016 thru 19.6.2016 (expiration dates 5.05.2016 thru 18.08.2016

To receive a refund, please return the product to the manufacturer in Jerusalem. 

These products are safe to eat UNLESS you have a peanut allergy.

Teva Deli Products with undisclosed Peanut Ingredients

Teva Deli announced they also were affected by the garlic that contained peanuts.

The following product contains peanuts:

Me'urav Yerushalmi style Seitan, 350g with expiration dates 1/9/2016 - 30/9/2016

The product is safe to eat UNLESS you have a peanut allergy.

Baladi Meats has released a VERY long list of products that are being recalled.
If you have purchased any meat products from Baladi, (including kebabs, hamburgers, hot dogs, chorizos, and more) please consult the press release to see if they are included. Find the press release here.
The recall includes meats with expiration dates thru (and including) 16/08/2016

These products are being removed from store shelves. If you have purchased any of these producst and have a peanut allergy, please call customer service at 073-211-3700.

Achim Chamuy - Telfrost products:

Telfrost American Hamburger, 600g, barcode 7290013615213, production date 17.04.16 and expiration date 17.06.16, and production date 24.04.16 and expiration date 24.06.16

Telfrost "Ktzitzot" for cooking, 1 kg packages, barcode 7290013615138, production date 20.04.16 and expiration date 20.06.16, and production date 28.04.16 and expiration date 28.06.16

Additionally, Dahan Butchers have announced products that are affected. However, I have not been able to verify that they actually are kosher. If you have their products, please check the press release.

More undisclosed peanut warnings



As I expected, there are even more warnings about undisclosed peanuts in a number of foods.
(The culprit appears to be a batch of garlic powder that was mixed with peanuts!)

Undisclosed traces of Peanuts

Sanlakol announced a recall of the following products that contain traces of peanuts without a dislosure on the label:

Yachin and Pri Mevorach brands Harissa - Hot Pepper Sauce - in 2.5 kg, 570g, and 100g packages

with use by dates of 3/2019, 4/2019, and 5/2019 and with production codes that fall between 16-084 thru 16-138

Undisclosed Traces of Peanuts


Pri Chen warned that the garlic powder used as an ingredient in certain pickles contains undisclosed traces of peanuts.


The products are:
 
"Cucumbers in Salt" with expiration dates between 18/05/19 and 25/05/19 in packages with drained weights of: 4.9 kg, 1.75 kg, 348 grams, and 320 grams.

The company is recalling the products from the supply chain.

Anyone with a peanut allergy is warned NOT TO EAT THESE.

Undisclosed Allergen Warning! (Another one)

Meir Bagel issued a warning that the following products contain undisclosed traces of peanuts:

"Shtuchaleh" Sweet Chili flavor, 300g packages

"Shtuchaleh" Sweet Chili flavor, 40g packages

with expiration dates between 22/12/2016 and 19/01/2017

"Shtuchaleh" is the name the company gave to their flat pretzel products

The products are being recalled to correct the packaging.

Anyone who has a peanut allergy who has purchased these products SHOULD NOT EAT THEM.

Fine Milk chocolate filled with hazelnut cream (43%), 112 gram bars, with use by dates between 1/10/2016 and 1/12/2016

These products should with an allergen warning, and they are not.

Anyone with a PEANUT, ALMOND, or other TREE NUT allergy should NOT eat these chocolates!

Undisclosed Allergen Warning!

This warning is super important for anyone with a PEANUT allergy.

The following items are being recalled from store shelves in Israel because the Hebrew labels that were affixed to the packages DO NOT CONTAIN AN ALLERGY WARNING. In particular, the products may contain peanuts (which may not be obvious when reading the ingredients).

The recall affects the following products:

1. Chocolate Oreos (chocolate cookies with chocolate creme), 137 gram packages, expiration date 21-5-2016

2. Oreos (Chocolate cookies with vanilla creme), 137 gram packages, expiration date 19-5-2016

3. Oreos (Chocolate cookies with chocolate-vanilla creme), 137 gram packages, expiration date 19-5-2016

4.Oreos (Chocolate cookies with vanilla creme), 274 gram packages, expiration date 5-4-2016

5. OREO Double Delight Chocolate Sandwich Cookies With Peanut Butter & Chocolate Creme, expiration date 21-5-2016

The recalled cookies were produced in Mondelez Indonesia,Bekasi,Indonesia

Mislabeled Cookies!

This recall is SUPER important for people who are allergic to peanuts.

Packages of Peanut Cookies for Pesach were mislabeled as Coconut Cookies for Pesach.

The product in question is produced by "Tvuot Bar Mazon" and the affected product are their "Chagigat Ha'Aviv Peanut Cookies" in 400g containers, with an expiration date of 21.09.2014. Some are mislabeled as "Chagigat Ha'Aviv Coconut Cookies."

If you've purchased a package of these cookies, thinking they are coconut cookies, they may in fact be peanut cookies.

The product is being recalled, but consumers who have purchased these cookies can return them to the store where purchased for a refund, and can call 03-906-8621 with any questions.
