Your order of $60 and up will usually qualify for FREE Global Air Locker shipping!

Don't forget these important, basic principles of shopping online from Israel:

• Keep your order under $75 to avoid paying VAT!!
• Spread out your orders. If you want to buy more than $75 worth of items from one website, and you have the option of splitting your order - DO IT. BUT don't order more than $75 worth on any given day to the same shipping name/address/ID. If you do, customs may combine your orders and charge you. Give it about 3 days between orders. Best to ship to a different name using a different ID for customs, so you can order it all on the same day.
• Always look for the free shipping option - usually, it's to a pickup spot.

I love to see how close to $75 I can get without going over, and get free delivery to maximize savings while avoiding import taxes!

Enjoy and happy savings!

Save on your Expat tax preparation!

If you're an American ex-pat like me, you know all about the yearly headache of filing your overseas tax return. Currently, this is something most of us MUST do, even if we don't like it. There's just no getting around it for now - no matter how much we complain (maybe one day it will change!). And because of the complexity of navigating tax documents issued to comply with Israeli tax law (as opposed to US tax law), it is usually NOT recommended to use automated software for filing your overseas tax return.

Or so we thought. But as of last year, there's SimpleTax – the first ever U.S. tax software for Americans living in Israel. I've had a long chat with the founder of the company, and they've worked so hard to make this service available (it's designed to work in a way that standard tax software doesn't) and I'm super excited about this development.

SimpleTax will walk you through a friendly and intuitive interface to prepare your U.S. taxes on your own, find your highest possible refund and save money on fees - starting as low as 299₪ for a tax return + FBAR.

If your taxes are more complicated, you will most likely pay a higher rate, but still MUCH lower than the quotes I've gotten from accountants recently.

This is going to change our lives. Mostly because staying tax compliant will now be so much simpler and cheaper!

I invite you to find more details at SimpleTax. If you use my referral link (the links to SimpleTax on this site are referral links), you'll get 10% off your first tax return! If for some reason you can't open the link, simply copy-paste this link to go to their site: https://simpletax.co.il/register?referral=KOFRU. Or go to their site on your own and be sure to enter my referral code (KOFRU)

SimpleTax is also on Facebook and has plans to help US citizens in Israel navigate financial issues better. You can be sure I'll be following them and waiting for more helpful developments.

So spread the word that in 2024 we'll be doing our taxes smarter and cheaper! Use my referral code to get a great 10% discount:

Extra iHerb Savings!

This post contains my iHerb referral link. You'll save money using it (even existing customers), and I may be compensated by iHerb. It won't cost you extra - but it WILL save you money! I love to share iHerb deals and I'm excited to let you know about a secret sale that will get you 20% OFF probiotics right now. I debated about sharing this, but in the end, since some probiotics are approved for use on Pesach, I decided it's ok to share. AND this combines with referral rewards, so if you use my referral code QEJ101 (or click on any link in this post and it should load automatically), you'll get an additional 5% off, giving you a really great deal! Just click here to shop the Probiotics category - no special coupon code is required! And, if you place items in your order that don't qualify for this sale, code QEJ101 will still give you 5% - 10% off almost anything else on the site! (You can use that code EVERYDAY to create your own sale!)  So click here and get started shopping (or maybe you already have your list just about ready to go, like I do? I have been waiting and waiting for this coupon code to arrive...)! Boxit delivery to a pickup location is my current default delivery choice. Just note that this delivery option is only for orders that weigh a maximum of 5 kg (11 lbs). There are a few products that cannot be shipped this way, so if you discover at checkout that this delivery option isn't available, try removing one item at a time from your cart (I recommend moving it to "your lists" and then moving it back if it's not the one causing the problem). You can often score FREE Boxit delivery - for this, your order must be at least $60 USD. Whether I get home delivery, or store pickup delivery, my iHerb orders have been coming really quickly, despite my location in the boondocks, closer to Damascus than Tel Aviv! Don't get surprised by import taxes! If you're ordering items from overseas, be sure to familiarize yourself with the most recent personal import regulations! HINT: Keep your order under $75 (not including shipping). I've been consistently impressed with their service during the pandemic. I've been filling in some of the things I was not able to get in my regular grocery or pharmacy delivery orders, or simply things that turned out to be less expensive from iHerb. I order things like fragrance free laundry detergent, french roast coffee, and eco-friendly dishwasher detergent, allergen free chocolate chips (note: these only ship November thru May!),  elderberry and zinc - I like to keep those on hand for winter colds - and other great products. Let me know what your favorite deals are! Want more deals? Join my Facebook Group and/or my Whatsapp group!

iHerb deals and news!

This post contains my iHerb referral link. You'll save money using it (even existing customers), and I may be compensated by iHerb. It won't cost you extra - but it WILL save you money!  I've promised to share iHerb deals whenever I hear about them, so none of you will miss out on the extra savings! So here's the current big news: Right now there are several different ways to save if you are placing an order: Existing Customers: place an order using a referral rewards code, and get 5% off your order! Any link in this post is embedded with my rewards code, or simply make sure that code QEJ101 is in your cart at checkout! 10% off products in the Probiotics Category, with code PRO10 New customer deal!  New customers will get an extra 10% off your first iHerb order. Simply shop using this exclusive link, and you'll get the new customer savings loaded into your cart! (If the link doesn't load your discount into your cart, simply enter code QEJ101 at checkout. (If you've already shopped at iHerb, you can use this link to get a 5% referral discount!) NEW -- Flash Deals that change every hour! There are a limited number available, and some deals get claimed really quickly! More PRO tips for shopping at iHerb: If you use Shipping Savers, you can get really affordable shipping, even if you choose DHL Express shipping (I highly recommend this shipping method, as you can make a much larger order - I often order 10 lbs or more, it arrives really quickly, and I can choose for it to be delivered to my door! And sometimes it's as low as $2! Last time I used the free shipping option, my package got lost in transit. It was annoying, to say the least...)! You can sort for Shipping Savers on iHerb by clicking the Shipping Saver checkbox on the left-hand side of the page. Check out my Shipping Saver suggestions, too - click the link for some, read below for others!   Here are some of the things I like to buy at iHerb: Toothbrushes - this 2 pack includes brush covers AND a small roll of floss, and is less than 10 NIS. That means less than 5 NIS for each brush plus cover and some floss! Try beating that price locally! BONUS: this is a shipping saver item, so your shipping cost will GO DOWN when you add it to your cart! Pretty Amazing deal right there! Neosporin and Neosporin with Pain Relief - you can't get these over the counter in Israel! And this is one of the only ways to get neosporin here! It's a bit pricey, but it's a shipping saver, so it should offset some of your shipping! SilverGel - similar products, that are great healing creams for skin, are all Rx only in Israel, and are about the same price or more. If you want to keep a silver based cream handy without needing to prove to your doctor that you need it, stock up at iHerb! AND this product is a shipping saver! Mederma - this scar reducing cream is widely used in the USA, and is not available, as far as I know in Israel! So ordering from iHerb is a great option. Bonus: it's a shipping saver!   Palm Oil (this eco-friendly version is not available in Israel at all, and is perfect for making frosting or fudge) Magnesium Tablets (these and many other supplements are quite pricey in Israel and iHerb is a great way to save!) Stash Teas (I buy these when they are on sale, as the sale price comes out to less than the lowest price I can find herbal teas for locally, and these are just SO MUCH HIGHER quality than teas I can find for an affordable price!) Vitamin D (so many people are deficient, it turns out! And my doctor prescribed a rather high dose, and what's sold here is very low dose and more expensive) Probiotics are far less expensive from iHerb than any I've found in Israel, and they don't weigh much! Many of these are "shipping savers" - so they'll lower your shipping costs for the whole order if you add them in! EO shower gel (we like this kid friendly all-in-one shower product that doesn't irritate our skin!) Ricola throat drops (these work out to be only slightly less expensive than the local price, so I use them as a "filler" product, never as my "reason for buying") Witch Hazel (it's really difficult to find witch hazel products locally, and if you love witch hazel, you'll be thrilled with iherb's price. This one is a toner with alcohol in it - some people like the alcohol in it, but if you don't, they also have plenty of no-alcohol witch hazel products) Coffee Filters (unbleached) - I can find the #4 size locally, but I use the #2 size, and can't always find unbleached, and it's so easy to order it, rather than running around town! Brown Rice Pasta (I only buy these when they're on sale though. Great for people who don't eat wheat! The local equivalent is more expensive unless there's an amazing sale going on) Grapefruit Seed Extract (similar product, 1/4 of the size, cost more than twice as much at my health food store, and many people are convinced this keeps colds away,!) Essential Oils (I use them in homemade cleaners) - for a fraction of the price here in Israel! Yes, they are real and natural (and very importantly, not an MLM)! Soy-free Teriyaki Sauce (for my soy allergic child) - I've never seen this in Israel! Calendula Cream (so soothing and wonderful for eczema!) Aquaphor Ointment - impossible to buy locally! When it's not available, you might find CeraVe to be a good alternative. I also regularly check the Specials Page to see if products I use are on sale and work out to a better deal thru iHerb during a sale, and I also occasionally will order a hard-to-find spice. Let me know what your favorite deals are! Don't get surprised by import taxes! If you are ordering items from overseas, be sure to familiarize yourself with the most recent personal import regulations! Not sure if shopping at iHerb makes sense? I shop there pretty often, as you may already know. I find it makes life easier for me - not only do they make it easy to find some "hard to find" products my family needs (like fragrance free shower products), but I save a significant amount of money on vitamins and probiotics and toothbrushes. So many products are definitely less expensive at iHerb than at my local stores, and shipping can be VERY affordable as I mentioned above.

New Customer Savings from iHerb!

This post contains my iHerb referral link. You'll save money using it (even existing customers), and I may be compensated by iHerb. It won't cost you extra - but it WILL save you money!  I've promised to share iHerb deals whenever I hear about them, so none of you will miss out on the extra savings! So here's the current big news: Right now there if you've never shopped at iHerb, you can take advantage of this new customer deal!  New customers will get an extra 10% off your first iHerb order. A total of 15% off when combined with a referral discount!  Simply shop using this exclusive link, and you'll get these great savings loaded into your cart! (If the link doesn't load your discount into your cart, simply enter these two codes at checkout: QEJ101 and 19NEW to get these two discounts! If you've already shopped at iHerb, you can use this link to get a 5% referral discount!) UPDATE: there's a buy two, get 10% off deal going on right now, for a number of top products - good for all customers!
