I was so proud of how my bread came out today, I just had to share a picture!
I used my usual whole-wheat-oatmeal-flaxseed bread recipe, and after the breads were shaped and risen, I brushed water over the tops and sprinkled oats and seeds on them.
Maybe all of you make bread like this, but I don't usually!
I started this site because so many of the frugal food sites I love are just jam-packed with recipes that are decidedly un-kosher. And lots of other frugal living sites are extremely religious, and not in a Jewish way. And that just wasn’t working for me. I hope that I can share some ways to be frugal AND kosher. And share some of my thoughts about our life since making Aliyah. Oh, and if you share my recipes, menus, musings, etc, please link back to this blog. Thank you.

Gorgeous. Is that sourdough?
ReplyDeleteNo, but I did let it sit for 12 hrs between kneading and punching it down and shaping it. Kind of a rustic loaf made with regular yeast. I'm too easily distracted to keep sourdough starter! I'd never remember to feed it! :-)
DeleteWow, it looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! One and half loaves disappeared at lunch. There are 1 and a half more for another day!
