Residents of Northern Israel - it's back! Here's another chance to get a really affordable eye exam and glasses!
This week - Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 11:00AM - 7:00PM, you have a chance to get subsidized eye exams and glasses, this time at the Kinar Hotel in "Ulam Golan" (on the Kinneret). You'll be able to get a pair of glasses: frames + lenses - for just 150 shekels, and sunglasses for 50 shekels! Note: additional fees will be charged for complicated prescriptions, multifocals, etc (but will still be much less than the standard cost for these glasses).
FREE sunglasses are available for chayalim (no need for an ishur/asmachta)!
Please bring your glasses if you just need new glasses with the same prescription as your old ones, OR if you have a written script for your new prescription, bring that in order to save time. If you don't have an up-to-date prescription, you can have an eye exam done there, but there may be a line. Children under 12 should bring their prescription.
Please note: Glasses are not made on the spot. You will receive a text message when they are ready to be picked up.
Hope this helps some of you out there!

Residents of Northern Israel - I have really great news! Subsidized eye exams and glasses are now available year-round at the new "Ezra Ba'Re'iyah" location inside Pitchon Lev in Karmiel.
Find them at HaLevona St #1, Karmiel.
Opening hours are:
Sun: 12:00 - 7:00pm
Mon - Thurs: 2:00pm - 7:00pm
Fri: 9:00am - 2:00pm
You'll be able to get a pair of glasses (standard frames + standard lenses!) for just 100 shekels! Sunglasses are 50 shekels! Specialty lenses are subsidized on a different scale (multifocals, for example, will cost 600nis and transition lenses for most prescriptions will cost 300nis - still a really awesome deal! My high index lenses cost an extra 200nis, the cost varies by exactly what you need), and some frames are a bit more expensive, but still affordable.
Please note: Glasses are not made on the spot, as far as I know.
Hope this helps some of you out there! There's been a lot of discussion about the cost of glasses lately!

One carrot grower from Moshav Tzofit is inviting the public to his carrot fields to harvest the carrots he's grown. The market price he's been offered would not offset the cost of paying to harvest the carrots, so now thru Tuesday he's opening his fields to the public for self-picking.
Pick as much as you want, and pay what you want to pay for it.
The farm is located near Kfar Sava on Road 5503.
It will be open to the public between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm (thru Tuesday).
Have fun picking carrots!
