Here are the details you need to know:


Product: Sliced Smoked Salmon
Brand: Seven Seas (Shamir Salads)
Size: 100g, 150g packages
Production Dates: 5.07.18 
Use By Dates: 4.08.18

The recall also included 100g packages with an expiration date of 27.07.18, which has already passed. If for some reason you froze this product, take note!


These products are being recalled due to listeria contamination.

Consumers who have purchased this product are instructed not to eat it. Please call Shamir Salads customer service at 1-800-701-701 to arrange your return.

Date: Production dates from 1.9.2017 an 8.9.2017 (inclusive!)

The products are being recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria.

Food Recall - Smoked Salmon (Again)

Smoked Salmon seems to be a really problematic product here in Israel.
Over the years, I've reported numerous recalls from various companies that produce smoked salmon.

Today's recall is for the following product:

"2 Fishermen" brand ("Shnei HaDayagim") Cold-Smoked Sliced Salmon Fillets, vacuum packed smoked salmon.

The packages are marked with product code p-1702-0103, and have an expiration date of 10.03.17

The fish product mentioned above may contain listeria.

Consumers are asked NOT to eat this product, and to return it to the place where purchased.

Recall - Frozen Corn

Milotal Frozen Vegetables is recalling the following product, due to the possibility of listeria contamination:


Frozen Corn Kernels, 3kg packages, Heter Mechira, with barcode 7290000431017, production code 63113621, and use-by date 08/05/2018

One independent test was positive for listeria, though test conditions allowed the corn to defrost before testing.

All other tests were negative for contaminants, but the product is being recalled anyway as a precaution.

Most packages of corn in this size were sold to the wholesale market, but some were sold in retail stores.

The product is SAFE to eat when properly cooked, but consumers who have this corn are asked to be in touch with the company at 04-985-9325 or to return it to the store where purchased.

Roast Beef Recall!

The Ministry of Health and M'taam L'mehadrin announced a recall of the following product:

Roast Beef, 250g packages, with a production date of 02/11/2016 and an expiration date of 02/01/2017

This product is part of the Delicatessim (Specials) line, of "M'Taam Chafetz Chaim".

The product is being recalled and removed from store shelves because routine tests showed contamination with Listeria.

Please return the product to the store where purchased for a credit.

Shamir Salads and the Ministry of health announced a recall of the following products due to a listeria contamination issue:

Frozen smoked salmon, 100g packages, production date 27.10.15 (use by date thru 27.04.16)

Refrigerated smoked salmon, 100g packages, production date 27.10.15 (use by date thru 26.11.15)

The affected products are being removed from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased these products should return the products to the store where purchased for a refund. If questions arise, customers can call Shamir Salads' Customer Service line at 03- 906-7744.

Food Recall (Israel)!

"Zahavi Hakerem" brand, together with the Health Ministry, announced the following recall:

Mildly Spicy Green Schug (green lid) with barcode 7290000462172) with an expiration date 23.11.15. The affected product has production code 15147 stamped on the lid.

This product has bee recalled because of a possible listeria contamination. The company is actively removing the product from store shelves, but some have already been sold. The sales took place in the Northern part of the country ONLY.

Please check your pantry, and if you have this product, please call the company at 1-700-555-006 to arrange for a refund.

Food Recall!

Since some of my readers buy this product, I'm sharing the following recall:

"Hod Chefer" brand Spicy Chicken Sausages (Hot Dogs?) are currently being recalled due to a possible listeria contamination.

The recalled products are sold frozen in 400g packages and have expiration dates of 28/01/16, and have barcode #  7290002686194 on the package.

The product is currently being removed from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased this product are being asked NOT to eat it, and to return it to the store where purchased for a refund.

Another Expanded Food Recall!

On Monday I posted about another herring recall, details are here:

I am beginning to think that buying fish (especially smoked or salted fish) in Israel is just seriously risky business.
This latest recall applies to the following product:

Herring Fillets, with a production date of 18/01/15 and an expiration date of 5/03/15, manufactured by  (Yisragal Metterman?) ישרגל מטרמן
The product may be contaminated with listeria, and consumers are asked not to eat it. Please return it to the store where purchased for a credit.

On Wednesday, this recall was expanded to include:

Vacuum Packed Herring Fillets (production date 26/01/15, expiration date 13/03/15

Matjes-Style ("signon matias") Herring Fillets (production date 26/01/15, expiration date 3/03/15)

Please return these products to the store where purchased for a refund.

The company is removing the products from store shelves, but please check dates carefully before buying.

"HaTikva Smoked Fish" and The Ministry of Health have announced a recall of the following products:

1. Herring (labeled Matias) Fillets in oil - 480g packages, with a sell-by date of 6.4.15

2. "Palmida" in oil - 480g packages, with a sell-by date of 9.4.15

The affected products tested positive for listeria.

The products are being recalled from store shelves, and consumers who have purchased these products are asked NOT to eat them, but to return them to the store where purchased for a refund.

The recall has been expanded to include  ALL 480g packages of Herring Fillets (labeled Matjes/Matias) in oil with expiration dates between 7.3.15 and 9.4.15

Consumers who have purchased this product are asked NOT to eat them, and to return them to the store where purchased for a refund.

The Ministry of Health issued the following RECALL today:



Maadanei Hataleh brand Stuffed Boneless Chicken Thighs (with onions and mushrooms)

Barcode # 2410874, sold in 2 packs (frozen) with a use by date of 14.10.2015 are being recalled from store shelves because of a possible listeria contamination.


Consumers who have purchased this product are being asked NOT to eat it, and to call the company's customer service line at 08-624-6000
