Yotvata Flavored Milk Recall

 
Yotvata announced that some single serve bottles of flavored milk (250ml, 300ml, and 350ml), with expiration dates from 9/11/2013 - 17/11/2013 are being recalled due to early spoilage. They maintain that products that do not have an "off" flavor or texture are safe to drink.

Tara Milk Cartons Spoiling Too Soon

Tara Dairies announced a consumer update that certain 1-liter cartons of their 3% milk are spoiling before their sell by date.

If you have a carton of Tara milk that is dated 13.11.2013, it may spoil too soon.

The cartons have been removed from store shelves.

Customers can get a replacement for spoiled milk by calling Tara at 1-800-777-333

Food Recall - Shamir Salads (Israel)

Please check your salads if you've bought any this week! A routine inspection of Shamir Salads showed that a number of Shamir Salads are contaminated with listeria.

The affected salads are Egg Salad, Avocado Salad with Eggs, and Roasted Eggplant in Techina, and they should NOT be eaten.

Egg Salad: 250g containers with expiration date 7.11.13
Avocado Salad with Eggs: 250g containers with expiration date 20.11.13
Roasted Eggplant in Techina (no preservatives): expiration date 31.11.13 - although that date doesn't exist. I have no idea how that happened, but that's what was in the press release!

Consumers who have purchased these products should call Shamir Salads at 03-9067744 and speak with a customer service representative.

The products are being removed from store shelves.

Other Shamir Salads that are not included in this recall are safe to eat.

Food Recall - Beef Dumplings (Israel)

 

 

Salmonella warning:

The Ministry of Health discovered salmonella in Irena Filled Pastries' Factory. 

They are recalling beef dumplings sold in 800 gram packages, with a production date of 2/10/2013.

The packages have the following name on their label: "כיסונים (פלמני) בשר "אוקראינסקי

 

In addition, the packages are labelled with an incorrect "best by" date.

 

Customers are being asked to return this product to the store or to the factory.

Roasted Root Vegetables

Cut Vegetable Platter
Chocolate Cake

Menu for the Week

This week's menu planning is a little bit belated. Oops.

But I decided to make a plan anyhow, or you know what happens. 

I'm including the retroactive plan, and only writing suppers. Lunches will be leftovers or soups and sandwiches.

Sunday: Leftovers from Shabbat lunch, which was pareve cooked in dairy pots.
Monday: Embellished leftovers from Friday night
Tuesday: Squash Soup, cut veggies, baked ziti
Wednesday: Split Pea Soup in the Crock Pot, Lentil patties with sweet and sour sauce over rice, whatever veggies I manage to cut up or steam
Thursday: Pizza? (If I buy cheese) and salad

Movie Day!

This Thursday, October 24th, 40 movie theaters are participating in a nationwide "Movie Day". They'll be reducing the price of admission to 10 shekels/14 shekels for 3-D movies. Some theaters will be on "Vacation Schedule" and have daytime movies as well, starting at 11 a.m.

Participating theaters include Cinema City, Yes Plus, Rav-Chen, Lev, Globus, and Globus Max.

Activia Yogurt Recall (Israel)

Strauss, Inc. has announced that a small number of Activia Plain (White) Yogurt Drinks, 1.5% fat, sold in 250 ml bottles, barcode 9200011104941, were mislabeled.


Yogurt drink bottles with expiration date of 01/11 (November 1), produced between 0:00 - 03:30 ONLY were labeled plain white yogurt but actually contain apricot flavored yogurt. The company says the product is safe to consume.

The mislabeled product has been recalled, and is being removed from store shelves.

Mislabeled Tirat Tzvi Ground Beef

Tirat Tzvi announced that certain packages of "Ground Beef, 500g" (Barcode 3229406) were labeled with an incorrect expiration date. Packages that state that the last date for use is 21/8/14 should have been dated 20/10/2013.

Please take note of the correct expiration date!
