Unboxing: Stainless steel frying pans

This post contains affiliate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission, at no additional cost to you

Sharing a recent shopping experience

I took a leap of faith and I ordered a set of 3 stainless steel frying pans that I found on sale for an AMAZING price from Amazon recently (When I bought them, the set was under $40, but Amazon prices change all the time - when I checked today, that sale had ended. But you never know, it might come back!). One of my kids had asked for one for his home away from home, so in an attempt to find a great deal, I ended up with a 3-pack. I put the other 2 away for Pesach because I am 100% sure that someone will need one for Pesach but just doesn't know it yet!

Anyhow this deal was too good to pass up. I thought I was getting 3 stainless steel frying pans, because that's all that it said in the description. Here's what I found when the package arrived:

 A BIG box.

I opened it up to find ANOTHER box inside:

Kind of a lot of packaging. But I guess that's the way it's done everywhere.

So I opened the inner box:

Even more packaging inside

So I pulled it all out, and SURPRISE!

It's not just 3 frying pans! There are also oven mitts and silicone trivets!
But everything is wrapped in plastic...

Frying pans unwrapped... Need to tovel them. The other things are staying wrapped and getting stashed away for Pesach I think!

Anyhow, this turned out to be a great deal and I'm so glad I grabbed them when they were discounted!
I'll be watching them and I'll try to post an update when the price drops again!

In the meantime, if you need stainless steel pans, check out these Amazon deals:

Recipe: Vegan pancakes

Vegan Pancakes!

I decided to make some pancakes today, and as usual, I wanted to keep it simple, so I went with the method that would make the fewest dirty dishes - vegan pancakes! They came out great, and they're really easy, so I wanted to share!

Recipe
(makes enough for 4 normal people, so if teenage boys are around, adjust accordingly!)

1 cup whole grain or other flour (I used 80% spelt)
2 tablespoons sugar (I used demarrara but you can use any)
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup vanilla soy milk (but you can use any kind)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for those of you wondering, yes, you can use regular "white" vinegar for this instead. Just please don't use balsamic or other wine-based vinegar)

First place all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, and mix with a fork or spoon. Then make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour the soy milk and the vinegar into the well. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then mix well with the fork or spoon.
Let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes before you start frying up your pancakes.

Fry them up on a lightly oiled frying pan (I like my cast iron pan for this), and enjoy!

I added blueberries to the batter this time - they were great! You can add in anything you want, or just go traditional with this and serve with maple syrup (but the price of that went through the roof lately, so we'll understand if you decide to find a substitute for maple syrup!)

These were a late night dinner for us, but obviously they make the perfect breakfast if you're up for cooking in the morning!

Enjoy!

P.S. the links in this post only work if you're in Israel - sorry. If you want to buy a great mixing bowl or a cast iron pan outside of Israel, check the links down here:

Get Paid for Surveys in Israel!

This post contains affiliate and referral links. I may be compensated in some way if you click a link and register or make a purchase. Thanks in advance for your support!

Back in the old days before we came back to Israel, I often answered online surveys, and I'd be paid pocket change ($3-$5 per survey) via PayPal. It was an easy way to pad my budget - and I really missed that after making aliyah! I had thought that was all just part of my old life - and obviously, I am no longer eligible to answer US based surveys. But then I discovered that it doesn't mean I can't still get some extra cash here, as there are survey sites here as well!

Click to go to Panel4All!
Click to go to Panel4All!

First, signed up for Panel4All a while back, and so can you. This site works differently than what I had gotten used to before I made aliyah - they don't pay in cash. Instead, participants earn points that can be cashed out for gift cards. Depending on your demographics, you'll be invited to answer different surveys. I usually get several emails a week about surveys and when I have 5 minutes, I answer them. Sometimes the surveys close out before I get around to answering though, so don't be surprised if that happens from time to time.

I've added a few more survey sites to my repertoire, and I figured some of you out there may want to use them to earn some side-money, too! I've checked out a number of different ones, and this list includes sites that are specifically for Israel, as well as international ones. Check them out, too!

iPanel  --
you'll have to answer a long survey to complete your registration, but then you'll be able to start earning credits toward a gift card!

Midgam Panel -- this site pays out via Paypal or gift cards, you'll be able to choose what's better for you when the time comes. Paypal seems to charge fees for this, so I prefer the gift card option.

Survey Rewards (Israel) - this site seems to have surveys available in English!

SekerNet -- this site pays via check or bank transfer when you reach the minimun payout threshold of 55nis.

PanelView - this site has some ability to function in English - mine defaulted to English once I answered the survey and told them my first language is English!

MoBrog - this site is in English, but I'm not sure if all the surveys will be in English. Definitely worth checking out!

I'm also a member of "MySeker", and they do email referrals. Please drop me a note at ester@kosherfrugal.com and I'll send you a link to join!

I hope you found this list helpful - I know some people use survey sites as their "side hustle" successfully, and I hope you can too!

Feel free to share this list with others who may want to make some side income answering short surveys!
